Browns RB Kareem Hunt aiming to play Sunday night vs. Ravens

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski offered good news coming off an ugly 13-10 home victory over the winless Detroit Lions. He told reporters Monday he was "hopeful" running back Kareem Hunt would be able to return from the calf injury he initially suffered on Oct. 17 for Sunday's pivotal prime-time divisional game at the 7-3 Baltimore Ravens.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Hunt will be designated to return from injured reserve at some point this week, and he said during a Tuesday charity event he plans to be back in the lineup against the Ravens.

"We’ll see how practice goes, and I’ll make sure I’m feeling great and be able to go out there and give it my all," Hunt explained.

"…It’s a very big game. I feel like for us, every game from now on is a playoff game. If we want to make a run, we’ve got to do what we do."

Before the setback, Hunt recorded 361 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 69 carries with 20 receptions for 161 yards across six contests. He's certainly been missed as part of an offense that continues to feature a frustrated Baker Mayfield at quarterback. Cleveland's QB is playing through an injury to his non-throwing shoulder that will likely need surgery to repair and also foot and knee issues that are seemingly impacting his mobility and ability to properly plant for throws.

"Baker, he’s going to be fine," Hunt added during his Tuesday comments. "He’s battling a lot of things, injuries and stuff like that. I’m just going to go out there and do everything to help him and make his life easier. The quarterback has a huge job. It’s one of the hardest in the NFL to play."
