Browns RB Nick Chubb on late TD run vs. Jets: 'It cost us the game'

The Cleveland Browns were one of three NFL teams in Week 2 to choke away big second half leads.

When Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb scampered in for his third rushing touchdown of the day against the New York Jets just past the two-minute warning, it put the Browns ahead by two touchdowns, but kept the door a crack open for the visitors to mount a furious comeback.

That's exactly what the Jets did, coming away with a 31-30 win after scoring 14 points over the games final 1:55.

Chubb addressed the controversy on Tuesday and admitted his mistake.

Had the 26-year-old gone down before reaching the end zone, New York wouldn't have been able to stop the clock, and, barring an unlikely fumble on a kneel down, Cleveland would've won 24-17.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke about Chubb's decision with reporters on Monday and took some blame for the situation as well, saying he wish he told the running back not to score ahead of time.

Cleveland will have to bounce back quickly, as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 on "Thursday Night Football."
