Browns RT Jack Conklin out 'multiple weeks' with dislocated elbow

The Cleveland Browns are not having the season many envisioned at the start of September, and they have experienced yet another setback ahead of this coming Sunday's pivotal divisional matchup at the 5-3 Cincinnati Bengals.

According to Jake Trotter of ESPN, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Monday that starting right tackle Jack Conklin will miss "multiple weeks" of action because of the dislocated elbow he suffered in Sunday's 15-10 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers that dropped Cleveland to 4-4 on the campaign.

Blake Hance replaced Conklin, a 2020 All-Pro, against the Steelers and is expected to start for at least the Cincinnati contest. Stefanski didn't say if Conklin will ultimately go on injured reserve, a move that would require him to miss a minimum of three games per NFL rules.

The Browns will be at the New England Patriots on Nov. 14.

Any offensive line instability is particularly concerning for the Browns considering quarterback Baker Mayfield is attempting to play through an injury to his left (non-throwing) shoulder that includes a torn labrum and also a fractured bone at the top of the humerus. Mayfield completed 20-of-31 passes for 225 yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions in the loss to Pittsburgh.
