The Cleveland Browns signed a new kicker following the injury to Dustin Hopkins.

Hopkins suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s 36-22 win over the Houston Texans in Week 16 on Sunday. He was set to undergo an MRI on Monday, and the team estimated that he would not have practiced on Monday.

With Hopkins hurt, the Browns signed kicker Riley Patterson off the Lions practice squad.

Patterson has kicked in 37 games during his NFL career. He kicked in seven games for the Lions in 2021;=, 17 for the Jaguars last season and 13 games this season for Detroit.

Patterson is 58/66 (87.9 percent) on kicks during his NFL career and has made 87/90 extra points.

Hopkins is 33/36 (91.67 percent) on field goals this season for the Browns. He also has made 24/26 extra point attempts.

Cleveland has won three in a row and is now 10-5. The Browns host the Jets on Thursday night in Week 17 and then visit the Bengals to end the regular season in Week 18.
