A roster move has been made for the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday with an addition of a veteran to the practice squad.
Cleveland has signed 11-year pro S Duron Harmon, the team announced. The signing comes after the Browns lost S Rodney McLeod for the season to a biceps injury.
Harmon started 2023 on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad before being signed by the Chicago Bears, where he played three games this year with one start.
After being a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Harmon spent the first seven years of his career with the New England Patriots. While with the Patriots, Harmon recorded 17 of his 23 career interceptions. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion.
Since leaving the Patriots, Harmon has bounced around a bit. The 2020 season was spent with the Detroit Lions where he started every game. In 2021, Harmon started 17 games with the Atlanta Falcons.
Last season, Harmon played in all 17 games and recorded a career-high 86 tackles with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 32-year-old safety is now behind Ronnie Hickman and D’Anthony Bell in terms of depth. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Browns used him as a third safety down the stretch run of the season with Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill.
Another very experienced player who has done a lot of winning is joining the Browns. That is some positive news for them in Week 12.
