One of the Cleveland Browns captains is up for an award that means a lot to players.

For Cleveland, LB Anthony Walker Jr. has been nominated for the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

Walker is a defensive capital, green dot holder, and he does a ton of work in the community. He’s been a welcomed addition to Cleveland on and off of the field since he joined a couple of years ago.

The award is known as the NFL’s most prestigious honor and acknowledges players who excel on the field and demonstrate a passion for creating a long-lasting impact beyond the game of football.

Since suffering a significant injury early last season that took most of 2022 away from him, Walker has started in all 11 of the games he’s played in. On the year, Walker has 39 tackles to his name.

Walker spent the first four years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts after being selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Walker has been in Cleveland for the past three seasons.

Now one of 32 players nominated for the award, Walker will have a chance to add an accolade that goes well beyond the pigskin.
