The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Detroit Lions in the Divisional Round of the playoffs this Sunday, and Buccaneers linebacker Shaq Barrett is looking forward to some payback.

The Buccaneers lost to the Lions by a score of 20-6 back in Week 6, and Barrett certainly remembers that.

“I know playoff football hasn’t been there [Detroit] for a long time, and it’s finally back,” Barrett said, via the Buccaneers’ official YouTube account. “They beat us early in the year, so it’s another step in our revenge tour, and I’m looking forward to it.”

This past Monday, Tampa Bay beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a rout, avenging a Week 3 loss in which the Eagles topped the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium.

So, as far as Barrett is concerned, the “revenge tour” has already commenced.

“It’s going to be a good game, and once we prepare and start figuring out what we got to do, and we do that stuff, we should be able to come out on top,” Barrett continued.

Sounds a lot like a guarantee, but you have to appreciate the confidence.

“We know our capabilities in the locker room no matter what’s projected or what people think is going to happen in the game,” added Barrett. “So we always come in thinking we got a great chance of winning the game. People see us as the underdog. We don’t see ourselves as the underdog, but going into Detroit, it’s just going to be the same thing.”

The Lions’ Wild Card Round win over the Los Angeles Rams represented their first playoff win since January 1992, so you can bet Ford Field will be rocking in Detroit this weekend with the Lions having a chance to make their first NFC Championship Game in over three decades.

Barrett didn’t log a tackle against the Eagles. In 16 games this season, he registered 52 tackles, 4.5 sacks, an interception and three forced fumbles.

We’ll see what has in store in the Motor City.
