Buccaneers place WR Antonio Brown on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began their Super Bowl championship defense with back-to-back wins but have encountered some off-the-field issues ahead of their Week 3 matchup at the Los Angeles Rams.

Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, the Buccaneers placed star wide receiver Antonio Brown on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. He joins inside linebacker/special teams captain Kevin Minter and practice squad receiver Travis Jonsen, who were added to the coronavirus-related list earlier this week.

Back before the start of the regular season, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said the team was "100%" vaccinated against COVID-19. Laine noted Brown is considered fully vaccinated, so he could return to team activities ahead of the weekend as long as he is asymptomatic and produces two negative virus tests 24 hours apart. If, however, Brown is experiencing symptoms and is sidelined at least 10 days, he could potentially stay out through the Week 4 contest at the New England Patriots on Oct. 3.

According to ESPN stats, Brown sits second on the Bucs with 138 receiving yards and leads the team with 23.0 yards per catch on six receptions with a single touchdown.

The Rams, meanwhile, improved to 2-0 this past Sunday with a 27-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
