Buccaneers QB Tom Brady feeling 'pretty good' after knee surgery

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said Sunday that he is recovering well from offseason knee surgery, adding he's hopeful he'll be able to resume his normal training soon.

"Yeah, I hope so. I hope so. I feel pretty good, and I push myself pretty hard," Brady said at coach Bruce Arians' Family Foundation gala, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. "I feel pretty good. I don't know if I could go this week, but we'll see how things play out. It's a long time between now and the beginning of the season, and just be smart about all these different things that we have to do and fulfill; but we all take a lot of pride in being ready to go, and I'm sure we will be."

Brady added that he feels "a lot better" than he did six or seven weeks ago. The 43-year-old had been planning the knee operation for several months.

The Buccaneers are among half of the NFL's 32 teams not participating in voluntary workouts this offseason. Brady is hoping to return during minicamp and should be ready to go for Week 1.

Brady and the Buccaneers will look to defend their Super Bowl title next season. The franchise re-signed all 22 of its starters from the 2020 campaign, so Tampa Bay will enter the upcoming season as the team to beat.
