Buccaneers QB Tom Brady: 'I don't think proving it for me is the motivation'

After Tom Brady won his seventh Super Bowl title, his wife, Gisele Bundchen, asked him what more he had to prove.

During an exclusive interview with Michael Strahan on "Good Morning America," Brady admitted proving himself is not what motivates him to keep going.

"I don't think proving it for me is the motivation," he explained. "I still want to play, I got like a little sickness in me that just wants to throw a frickin' spiral you know what I mean."

He added, "once you stopped you can't go back and do it, I got some more football [in me] I mean not a lot, and I know that, but what I got left, I'm gonna go I'm gonna give everything I got."

Brady signed an extension with the Buccaneers this offseason, tying him to Tampa Bay through the 2022 season. He'll be 45 years old at the end of his current deal, and he admitted that he would definitely consider playing beyond that age.

Brady's new deal created enough cap space for the Bucs to re-sign all 22 of their starters from Super Bowl LV for another title run next season. He already has nothing else to prove, but if he wins an eighth title before he hangs up the cleats, it will be quite impressive.

The former Patriot also told Strahan that joining the Buccaneers after 20 years in New England was "invigorating," adding that it was a "really different experience."
