Buccaneers' Rob Gronkowski, Sean Murphy-Bunting to play Monday vs. Giants?

The defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be getting impact players on both sides of the football back just in time for Monday's prime-time home game against the New York Giants.

Per Adam Schefter, Jeremy Fowler, and Jenna Laine of ESPN, Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to take the field Monday night unless he suffers a setback during pregame warmups. Additionally, cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting is on track to be activated before kickoff.

Gronkowski, a five-time Pro Bowl selection and future Hall of Famer, has dealt with cracked ribs, a punctured lung, and back spasms this fall that cost him five total games, and his back issues made him a spectator for much of the 36-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints back on Halloween.

Murphy-Bunting, meanwhile, hasn't played since he dislocated his elbow in the season-opening 31-29 home win over the Dallas Cowboys. He practiced last week as the Buccaneers placed veteran cornerback Richard Sherman on injured reserve with what's been reported to be a grade 2 calf strain he suffered on Nov. 14.

The Giants, meanwhile, are 3-6 coming off their bye following a win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 7.
