Buccaneers' Tom Brady jokes about joining CFL after setting new record

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady could look to dominate the Canadian Football League in order to break his latest record.

"I'm hoping I can get to go to play in the CFL at some point and really see what I can make of myself up there," Brady joked during the latest episode of his "Let’s Go!" SiriusXM show and podcast, per Austin Nivison of CBS Sports. "Things have gone pretty well outside the country."

Brady made history this past Sunday when he became the first NFL quarterback to start a game in four different countries and also win in four different nations thanks to the Buccaneers defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21-16 in Munich, Germany. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has now notched victories in the United States, England and Mexico to go along with Germany.

"I think it's pretty cool," Brady said about his international mark. "I've been around long enough to see all these international games take place. It's like I'm the EPCOT Center of quarterbacks. It was really fun to be a part of it."

"Let’s Go!" co-host Jim Gray then mentioned how fellow signal-caller Doug Flutie, a CFL legend, served as Brady's backup with the New England Patriots during the 2005 NFL season.

“[Flutie] is a former teammate and hero of mine," Brady remarked, according to Jori Negin-Shecter of Yahoo Sports. "He’s always said great things [about the CFL]."

Brady hopping to the CFL isn't his only option if he wants to earn at least one meaningful win up north before he rides off into the sunset of retirement. Multiple NFL insiders are already suggesting the 45-year-old could play at least one more season at the highest level, so perhaps the league could do him a solid and schedule a game for his employer (whichever team that may be) to be played in a city such as Toronto or Vancouver next fall.
