Buccaneers' Tom Brady open to playing past 2022 season?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has long said he wants to continue playing in the NFL through his 45th birthday. Brady turns 44 years old in early August of this year and has at least two more seasons left in the tank according to recent comments made by personal trainer and TB12 business partner Alex Guerrero.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has repeatedly defied Father Time, though, and the subject of whether or not the G.O.A.T. will ultimately celebrate his 46th birthday as an active NFL player came up during a SiriusXM town hall with legendary broadcaster Jim Gray.

"I think I’ve got to get to that point first and then just evaluate how I feel and where I’m at in my life," Brady responded, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "But things change as you get older, and there’s a lot of different responsibilities I have in my life. My kids and my family is certainly very important. They made a lot of sacrifices over a long period of time to watch me play. So I owe it to them, too."

Interestingly, Brady said during an appearance on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" that aired last month he wants to "prove it to myself that I can still do it at 44" despite all that he's already accomplished.

Maybe Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht was offering a hint when he said in May he thinks Brady could play until he's 50.
