Buccaneers WR Mike Evans gushes about Tom Brady

Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots after 20 years and signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still feels like a dream, but it happened.

While Tampa's signing of Brady left Jameis Winston without a job for a while, the opportunity to land Brady was just too enticing for the Buccaneers ... and Mike Evans agrees.

The 26-year-old wide receiver was sad to see Winston go, but noted adding Brady is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“If we didn’t get Tom (Brady) then obviously I think we was going to keep Jameis (Winston),” Evans said on an Instagram Live session with former Bucs receiver Louis Murphy, according to David Harrison of Bucs Nation. “I don’t know for sure, I’m not the GM, I’m not a coach. I obviously wanted Jameis back because that’s my bro, but the opportunity to get Tom Brady, like that’s Tom Brady, bro. That’s the greatest of all time, he’s a franchise changer.”

Signing Brady, a six-time Super Bowl champion, was a no-brainer for Jason Licht and the Buccaneers staff.

Winston threw 30 interceptions last season, and didn't give Tampa Bay a strong chance to compete for a Super Bowl in 2020 and beyond.

With Brady at the helm of their offense, Tampa Bay might just win the Super Bowl in their home stadium, which would be a surreal moment for the organization.

Brady will join a talented receiving group in Evans and Chris Godwin, which is something he hadn't seen in New England over the last few seasons.

Evans has recorded 1,000-plus yard seasons each year since being drafted in 2014, which is extremely impressive. Brady certainly will like that, and Evans may even reach a new high with the 42-year-old at QB.
