The Bucs released center-guard John Molchon from the practice squad on Monday and replaced him with another offensive lineman. On Tuesday, Tampa Bay signed guard Logan Stenberg, a former fourth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2020, to the practice squad. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler first reported the news.

Bucs Moving On From John Molchon

At 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, Logan Stenberg is a big guard with long arms, and is known for his toughness. Stenberg played collegiately at Kentucky where he was a first-team All-SEC blocker in 2019, and spent the 2023 season with the Chicago Bears after three seasons in Detroit. Stenberg has started four NFL games and played in 25 games.

The addition of Stenberg means that the Bucs are likely moving on from John Molchon. The Boise State product has been with the team – primarily on the practice squad – since arriving in Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent. Molchon played guard and center, but never really developed into a player worth keeping on the active roster during his tenure with the team.

Tampa Bay waived Molchon on August 28 and then re-signed him to the practice squad on September 13. But after one week the team opted to go in a different direction and released him from the practice squad and added Stenberg.
