The Buffalo Bills are taking decisive steps towards salary-cap compliance, as they’ve recently reached a renegotiated contract agreement with veteran pass rusher Von Miller, as reported by ESPN’s Field Yates.

Originally slated for a base salary of $17.145 million for the 2024 season, Miller’s contract has now been revised to a base value of $8.855 million. However, there’s a silver lining for Miller, as the renegotiated deal offers him the opportunity to earn up to $20 million next season through incentives.

This strategic move by the Bills not only benefits Miller but also creates over $8.6 million in cap space for the team, aiding their efforts to navigate under the salary cap constraints.

Having joined the Bills in 2022, Miller’s initial season showcased his prowess with 21 tackles and eight sacks until a torn ACL abruptly halted his campaign on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the following season saw Miller struggle to regain his form, failing to secure a single sack in 12 games.

The renegotiated contract may serve as a catalyst for Miller to reignite his performance, a prospect eagerly awaited by the Bills as they hope for a resurgence from the two-time Super Bowl champion in the upcoming season.

In addition to Von Miller’s contract adjustments, the Bills made significant roster moves this Wednesday, parting ways with All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer, veteran center Mitch Morse, former fifth-round pick Siran Neal, wide receiver/return specialist Deonte Harty, and running back Nyheim Hines.
