The Buffalo Bills are keeping their captain

The Buffalo Bills had a busy Monday morning, and the team continued that trend with another roster move. The Bills are working to restructure the contract of running back Nyhiem Hines. The team also secured veteran punter Sam Martin for the next three seasons. The Bills also will have another special teams star back for two more seasons.

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Bills signed linebacker Tyler Matakevich to a two-year deal.

Matakevich has been with the Bills since the 2020 season. He was named a captain for the Bills last season. He’s known for his stellar contributions to special teams. Matakevich played a limited role for the defense last season, finishing with six total tackles on defense in 2022.

The Bills will have many more moves coming in the next two days. The team must get its cap under control before it can sign an unrestricted free agent.
