The Buffalo Bills signed a veteran to a three-year deal

The Buffalo Bills are making plenty of roster moves ahead of the free-agency period on Wednesday. The team has been working to restructure running back Nyhiem Hines’s contract ahead of the 2023 season. The team must balance its cap before signing any free agents later this week. With limited space, the team was able to find some room to extend its veteran punter.

According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Bills signed Sam Martin to a three-year deal. The contract is for approximately $7.5 million. Nearly $4.115 will be guaranteed. The extension comes off the heels of one of Martin’s best seasons. He averaged the second-most yards per punt of his career during the 2022 season.

The team will still have a lot of contracts to work out in the next two days to get under the cap limit. The Bills are set to let a few key defenders test free agency this week.
