The Buffalo Bills have agreed to re-sign defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, according to Cover 1.

It’s a two-year, $16 million deal that features $10.5 million in guaranteed money, per Ian Rapoport of NFL media. The contract can be worth up to $18 million with incentives.

Jones played in just seven games this past season due to a torn pectoral muscle. During his time on the field, he logged 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The 32-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Penn State, was originally selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He spent the first seven years of his career with the Titans, establishing a reputation as an impressive run stuffer. He posted similar numbers throughout his entire tenure in Tennessee, setting a career-high with 3.5 sacks in 2017 and then a career-high of 49 tackles in 2020.

Jones proceeded to join the Carolina Panthers for one season in 2021, registering 38 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

Following his short stint with the Panthers, Jones linked up with the Bills. During his debut campaign in Buffalo in 2022, he recorded 38 tackles, a couple of sacks and a fumble recovery.

The Bills have seen a mass exodus of players over the last couple of weeks due to financial constraints. The team has been forced to part ways with numerous key names because of its miserable salary cap situation. However, it has managed to keep Jones, who has been a big part of the club’s defensive front.

Buffalo went 11-6 and captured its fourth straight AFC East division title in 2023. The Bills then went on to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
