With the Buffalo Bills officially (practicing) in pads, let’s take a look at a few of the players who have showed up and showed out at training camp so far.

Shane Ray

Shane Ray signed with Buffalo following the draft after being out of the NFL for four years . Ray, a former Denver Bronco, had his best days in the league lining up next to Von. His best year came in 2016, where he totaled eight sacks and 48 tackles. Unfortunately, wrist injuries derailed his career, and he couldn’t latch on with another team (or league) until now. Ray has reportedly been playing very well in training camp, and is one of many who have bullied the OL. One notable instance was a few days ago, when Ray dominated Tommy Doyle during 1v1’s. With Von possibly missing the beginning of the season, Ray has given the front office plenty of reasons to keep him so far.

Baylon Spector

Baylon Spector was a preseason darling last year, paving the way for him to crack the 53-man roster as a special teams player. But this year, he’s found himself in the MLB rotation. On the practice field, Spector has taken command of the defense like a five-year pro. Even if he doesn’t crack the starting lineup, it’s going to be tough to keep him off this defense. Brandon Beane and Co. may have found yet another late-round gem.

Dalton Kincaid

Dalton Kincaid has been PHENOMENAL during the first portion of camp. Running strictly with the ones at TE, slot WR, and even in the backfield with Josh Allen. The Buffalo Bills have found creative ways to put him on the field. This is not to take away from Dawson Knox either, as the Bills have been running plenty of two TE sets. Given how he’s practiced and comparisons to Kansas City’s Travis Kelce, the rookie has great expectations this year.

Tim Settle

Tim Settle has reportedly had a great second camp with Buffalo. Settle came to the Bills very raw and is still learning to rush the passer from the 1T. However, according to DL Coach Eric Washington, he is taking to the new defensive scheme very well. With a strong season from Settle in 2023, the Buffalo Bills DL may become one of the league’s best.
