Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton went viral on Sunday after footage surfaced from a 7-on-7 tournament this weekend that shows the former Heisman Trophy winner involved in a brawl. In clips on social media, Newton can be seen in a melee between multiple individuals. Others rush in to help break up the squabble, including those wearing staff and security markers.

Commenters on social media were quick to point out how well the 6-foot-5, 34-year-old former NFL player holds his ground despite the chaos of the situation. He didn’t even lose his hat.

Newton has been involved in the youth football community for a long time. In 2011, he started C1N, an organization that focuses on “developing young athletes’ skills in football by providing opportunities to compete at the highest level through 7v7 tournaments and other events.” The team participates in five annual 7-on-7 tournaments.

According to the caption on the footage of the brawl, Newton was allegedly fighting members of the “TSP,” or TopShelf Performance team, which is a 7-on-7 team from Atlanta, Georgia. Newton records a weekly show on Youtube called 4th and 1 with Cam Newton, so maybe he’ll address what went down on Wednesday’s episode.
