Tom Brady has expressed disappointment with many current quarterbacks, criticizing their egos for getting in the way of being perfect team players. He called out footballers who prioritize themselves over the team.

In a conversation with DeepCut with VicBlends, the former quarterback clearly pointed his fingers at the social media addiction of present-day athletes. Brady’s words reflected agony as the athletes often go on to flex about themselves and their teams do not hold any significance.

I think the biggest problem with a lot of f---ing kids these days is it's all about them. Their brand. Their social media. And when it's about me and not about us, well, there's no way to succeed as a team-- When people are looking for self-glorification, very self-serving attitudes, very selfish attitudes--it's hard to have a team-first attitude if all you do is being concerned about how you're doing or your stats or the glory you're getting or the gratification you're getting. Tom Brady said

The recent significant increase in salary caps may have prompted Brady’s comments. He won seven Super Bowl rings by signing team-friendly contracts that didn’t strain his teams financially. Brady’s approach set him apart and allowed him to surpass his rivals, securing his legacy. The former QB might have been advising the young guns to follow his path if they are serious about grabbing championships.

Tom Brady’s honest recall of his concern while getting drafted into the NFL

Tom Brady has faced ample amount of challenges during his tenure in the league. He wasn’t a first-round draft pick and didn’t have the typical quarterback physique, so many doubted his potential. Despite this, Brady’s exceptional skills allowed him to overcome obstacles and become the most successful player in the league. He recounted those ‘vivid’ memories in the same interview.

I didn’t naturally have the biggest build…but where I really exceed[ed] expectations was my ability mentally to understand what I needed to do--To be better, to learn the game, to learn the tactics of the game, to learn the discipline of the game, to learn the strategy of the game. Emotionally, how can I bring a positive, team-first attitude every single day? Not self-focused, not self-serving. Tom Brady explained

Another quarterback facing a similar situation to Brady currently is JJ McCarthy. Like Brady, McCarthy doesn’t fit the typical quarterback physique. Coming from the same Michigan setup, McCarthy already has pointers on how to carve a path in the National Football League.
