With the 66th overall pick, the Arizona Cardinals became the second team to select a running back in the 2024 NFL Draft, choosing Trey Benson from Florida State University.

During his senior year at FSU, Benson rushed for 906 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

His standout performance came against Virginia Tech, where he ran for 200 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns.

At the combine, the two-time 2nd-Team All-ACC player clocked a 4.39 40-yard dash.

Notably, Benson did not fumble once in his college career, spanning 316 attempts.

The Cardinals current starting running back, James Conner, has one year left in his contract. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.

Arizona still holds three more picks in the 3rd round: 71st, 79th, and 90th overall.
