Cardinals QB Joshua Dobbs wears Florida Gators shirt after losing bet

The Arizona Cardinals may be 0-2 to start the season, but it appears they're trying to stay in high spirits -- even if that means following through after losing a friendly wager. Such was the case for starting QB Joshua Dobbs, who walked into his media availability on Wednesday wearing a University of Florida tee over his standard Cardinals duds.

Why would a University of Tennessee product be wearing a Gators tee? Because Dobbs and left tackle D.J. Humphries placed a friendly wager on the Week 3 college football battle between the Gators and the Volunteers. The fan of the losing team had to sport the winning team's shirt, and since Florida won that game 29-16, Dobbs obliged.

"I told D.J. I would wear it into the presser, I'm not going to wear it for the whole presser," Dobbs told the media with a grin as he quickly took the "enemy" tee off.

It's nice to see some good humor from Dobbs, who is actively working to get the Cardinals out of the early-season 0-2 hole and hasn't been hellacious under center, despite what preseason reports suggested. He has thrown for 360 yards -- just three less than Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts -- and has recorded one TD and no receptions. He's also ranked 11th among starting QBs with a 68.8 completion percentage, which is better than both Tua Tagoavailoa and Brock Purdy who have led their teams to 2-0 starts.

Still, the road ahead for Arizona is a long and uncertain one. They face incredibly tall tasks in the coming weeks with matchups against the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. It's no wonder DraftKings has them listed as a 30-1 long shot to make the playoffs this season.

Hopefully, for the Cardinals' sake, Dobbs does a better job in Week 3 against the Cowboys than his Volunteers did against the Gators.
