After James Conner left Sunday’s game early due to a knee injury, the Arizona Cardinals wasted no time in acquiring RB Tony Jones Jr. off waivers, per Darren Urban.

Jones brings with him experience from his time with both the Saints and Seahawks over the past couple of years.

Since 2020, he has accumulated 239 rushing yards on 88 attempts.

As for the severity of James Conner’s injury, it remains somewhat of a mystery.

Conner sustained the knee injury during a 35-yard run against the Bengals on Sunday. Prior to his exit, he had been well on his way to achieving his third game of the season with over 75 rushing yards.

Through the initial five weeks of the season, the Cardinals have been averaging an impressive 143 yards per game, ranking them 6th in the NFL.
