The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans face each other at NRG Stadium on Nov. 19.

However, two familiar faces to the Cardinals’ organization will play their former team for the first time when they rep the Texans uniforms.

Josh Jones

Houston offensive lineman Josh Jones was the 72nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by Arizona.

While in the valley, Jones would play 54 games for the Cardinals while starting in 24 of them until 2022.

However, this past offseason would be the last of Jones’ career in Arizona.

When the Cardinals selected offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr. with the sixth selection in the 2023 Draft, that spelled the beginning of the end for Jones.

Additionally, D.J. Humphries returned into the fold and Jones became the odd man out.

So, Arizona decided to send Jones and a 2024 seventh-round pick to the Texans for a fifth-round pick in next year’s draft.

What made the trade sentimental for Jones was that he was born in Houston and went to college at the University of Houston for four years (2015-19).

With his hometown team, Jones has started in three of the seven games he has played so far this season for the Texans after missing time with a thumb injury.

Myjai Sanders

Texans defensive end Myjai Sanders also goes up against his former squad tomorrow after being cut by the Cardinals earlier this season.

After becoming Arizona’s third round pick in the 2022 Draft, Sanders made 13 appearances for the Cards’ defense.

As a result, Sanders recorded three sacks, made 23 tackles, three passes defended and forced a fumble.

But, 2022 would be his first and only season for the Cardinals as Sanders was released on Oct. 17.

The next day, the Texans claimed Sanders off of waivers on Oct. 18.

Originally being a middle linebacker for the Cardinals, Sanders changed his position to being a defensive end.

Sanders has played two games for Houston with no statistical markers made, at the time of reporting.
