Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins leaves TNF game vs. Packers with hamstring injury

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins exited a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers with a hamstring injury in the first quarter and was ruled questionable to return.

Hopkins, 29, didn't practice at all in the week leading up to the game and was ruled questionable to play. He was active for the game and got off to a hot start with a 55-yard reception up the left sideline that set up the Cardinals for an early touchdown and a 7-0 lead. However, Hopkins left the game after the play and could be seen stretching and jogging on the sideline.

In the second quarter, the Cardinals announced Hopkins was questionable to return.

Hopkins has missed just two games in his NFL career. He sat out the final game of the Houston Texans' 2017 season with a calf injury and was rested for the Texans' season finale in 2019 ahead of a postseason appearance. Hopkins hasn't missed a game since he was traded to the Cardinals during the 2020 offseason.

In the first seven games of the 2021 season, Hopkins has caught seven touchdown passes, eclipsing his 2020 total of six touchdowns.
