Cardinals WR Hollywood Brown set to return Sunday vs. Chargers
Decimated by injuries as of late, the Arizona Cardinals will get a boost Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers with the return of wideout Marquise "Hollywood" Brown.
After designating Brown for return last week, the Cardinals finally activated the 25-year-old on Saturday. Brown hasn't played since suffering a foot injury on October 16 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Acquired in an offseason trade with the Baltimore Ravens, Brown was off to a solid start in his first season with the Cardinals before the injury. Brown recorded 43 catches for 485 yards and three scores through six games, with his best game coming in a 20-12 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, where Brown snatched 14 of 17 targets for 140 yards. The 140-yard performance was the most for Brown since he caught four passes for 147 yards in his NFL debut with the Ravens in 2019.
Brown's return is a beacon of hope for the banged-up Cardinals' offense. Heading into Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, the Cardinals will likely be without wide receivers Greg Dortch (thumb) and Rondale Moore (groin), as neither has practiced this week, according to the Cardinals' injury report. Meanwhile, on Friday, the Cardinals placed both tight end Zach Ertz (Knee) and tackle D.J. Humphries (Back) on injured reserve.
Along with the return of Brown, the Cardinals also expect his college quarterback at Oklahoma, Kyler Murray, back in the lineup Sunday after missing the past two weeks with a hamstring injury. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Murray has been removed from the Cardinals' injury report after practicing in full this week and is on pace to play Sunday.
