The Carolina Panthers have added NFL veteran quarterback to the roster for training camp. On Saturday, the team announced that Jake Luton is joining the team.

Luton, a former Oregon State standout, was signed as the team’s fourth quarterback for training camp. It allows the team to manage the workload a little better through practice, as well as through preseason action.

Carolina already had Bryce Young, Matt Corral and Andy Dalton on the roster. It’s expected that Young and Corral will take a majority of the snaps during preseason contests, per the team’s website.

Luton has played in three career games during his time in the NFL. He started three times for the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2020 campaign. The quarterback threw for 624 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions.

Luton has also had stops with the Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.
