Carson Wentz sees 'something special brewing' with Colts

Are the Indianapolis Colts building something special? Carson Wentz thinks so.

The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback told Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer that he believes the Colts have the pieces in place to have a successful 2021 season.

"You try to not think too much about that, you try to live in the moment, live in the present," Wentz said. "But like you said, when you look around and see not just the talent, but the young talent. And then you combine that young talent with what we just talked about, a lot of good dudes, a lot of not just good players, but good people? It's exciting. Don't get me wrong, it's exciting. There's something special brewing here."

Wentz was traded to the Colts this offseason after a disastrous 2020 campaign with the Eagles. The 28-year-old was one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL last year, but that's not making him any less confident entering the 2021 season.

Colts head coach Frank Reich is also very confident Wentz can bounce back this year. He said last month that he believes in the signal-caller and knows his hard work will pay off.

However, some aren't as convinced. Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski listed Wentz as one of the players on the hot seat entering the 2021 campaign, and he isn't wrong. Wentz has a lot to prove this year and, if he struggles, the Colts probably won't hesitate to bench him.
