CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs make bold statements on their futures with Cowboys

The NFL has done a great job of creating a superstar-driven league and the Dallas Cowboys have done an excellent job of cultivating a roster with names like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs.

Prescott's future with the Cowboys is an annual talking point in Dallas, so we'll leave that alone for now. Lamb and Diggs, on the other hand? Both players are nearing the end of their contracts. Lamb will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025 and will undoubtedly cost a pretty penny if he hits the open market. Diggs, on the other hand, will be an unrestricted free agent in 2024, and like Lamb, he'd be one of the hottest names in free agency if the Cowboys let him get that far.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones doesn't seem to be worried about their contracts yet, but it's worth noting that he might not need to. In fact, both players seem more than willing do to everything it takes to remain in Dallas long-term.

"Hopefully something gets figured out," Diggs recently said, per ESPN's Todd Archer. "I love Dallas. I love being here, so, you know, we'll see."

"Dallas is somewhere I always wanted to be. I don't see myself really wearing any other jersey," Lamb boldly said. "Don't want to get too much into detail on that, but I'm definitely excited for the future."

Dallas drafted both players in 2020, thus both are still on their rookie deals. Lamb makes an average of just $3.5 million a year, while Diggs makes $1.58 million.

Spotrac believes Lamb is worth $22.59 million per year on the open market, while Diggs checks in at $15.4 million.

In other words, both players are set to be paid sooner rather than later.
