Ahead of a must-win matchup against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers once again find themselves a victim to the injury bug as they will be without a key part of their defense.

It was reported by Daniel Popper of The Athletic that Los Angeles will be without safety JT Woods for Sunday Night's game as he is dealing with an illness.

Woods practiced on a limited basis all this week, but whatever illness he is suffering from appears to be serious enough to keep him out of the crucial Sunday Night Football showdown. The secondary has been an issue for the Bolts all season, and Woods being out hurts the already thin unit.

Without Woods, the Chargers could find themselves thin at the safety position as head coach Brandon Staley hinted earlier this week that Derwin James could see some time starting at the slot corner position for the Bolts.

While Woods has not played a lot this season, this weekend would've been a perfect opportunity to gain some playing time as he has only appeared in three games for LA recording just five tackles.

With Woods being out and the possibility of James playing at the slot position, fans could expect to see Dean Marlowe and Orange County native Jaylinn Hawkins receive more playing time.
