Free agency can serve as a beautiful jumping board for teams to dive into a pool of success heading into the season. If scouting departments are able to correctly analyze what players best fit into their season and compensate them correctly for what they will bring, success is bound to follow.

However, it is never just as simple as that. The Los Angeles Chargers specifically have been victims of overpaying players that perform well and then fall off a cliff once the checks hit. This is usually a result of injuries and also age so they are looking at every potential deal with a risk vs reward mindset.

This is most likely why, despite playing in 15 games for them last season, CB Bryce Callahan has not been re-signed by LA just yet and remains a free agent as of now. AT 31-years-old, he is not the biggest priority for a Chargers team that does not have the most money to experiment with.

His presence and experience was a plus last year for the Bolts as he posted 47 tackles and three interceptions. He is viewed as one of the more underrated options still available on the market and has always kept a humble mindset after going undrafted.

Multiple teams have been linked Callahan as the Chargers have not shown much interest in re-signing him. The Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and New England Patriots have all been named as possible suitors so we will see within this next week.

The Chargers' fan base appears to be willing to bring him back though based on his perforce in 2022 and the fact that it wouldn't take a lot of money.
