Chargers to sign former Rams LB Troy Reeder

According to Pro Football Network's Mike Kaye, the Los Angeles Chargers are signing former Los Angeles Rams linebacker Troy Reeder.

Last season for the Rams, Reeder played in all 17 games, starting ten at linebacker. The 28-year-old Reeder was third on the team in tackles (91), behind Taylor Rapp (94) and Jordan Fuller (113).

Reeder was a member of the Rams' active roster during their run to a Super Bowl LVI victory last season. He played in all four playoff games, including the Super Bowl, finishing with 16 tackles and one pass defense.

During the Rams' path to the Super Bowl, the three-year pro significantly impacted one of the postseasons' most memorable plays. In the wildcard round, the Rams, already leading 14-0, had the Arizona Cardinals backed up near their endzone. Reeder fought off a block and pressured quarterback Kyler Murray into throwing one of the wildest pick-sixes in NFL history.

Reeder just finished the final season of his rookie deal, a three-year, $1.7 million contract, but wasn't offered a restricted free agent tender by the Rams at the end of the season.

The former University of Delaware standout was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Rams, making the team in 2019. Reeder played 16 games, starting eight, in his rookie season.

In three seasons with the Rams, Reeder started 25 games, finishing with 230 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Reeder played in six playoff games with the Rams, finishing with 36 tackles, two quarterback hits, and two pass defenses.
