Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen believes there will be some unexpected consequences for the Chiefs from the Tyreek Hill trade. Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

There were many different reactions around the NFL on Wednesday after the Kansas City Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. The most interesting may have come from Keenan Allen.

Allen reacted to the blockbuster Hill trade with a very curious Instagram comment. He said the move is “gonna expose some people.”

There has been a lot of speculation about what Allen meant. The most obvious explanation is that he was implying Kansas City’s offense will be a lot worse without Hill. He may have been hinting that Hill has made head coach Andy Reid and/or Patrick Mahomes look a lot better over the past several years.

Time will tell. The Chiefs recently signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he is not the same type of player that Hill is. While Smith-Schuster might be able to step into a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver role, he is nowhere near as explosive as Hill. Kansas City will have to change some of their offensive if they don’t find a way to replace Hill.

The Chiefs could address the wide receiver position via the draft or a trade, but a couple of ideas have seemingly been shut down already. Reid is known for being a great offensive mind, so a lot of people will expect him to find a way to put points on the board without Hill. Perhaps Allen feels that is going to be a more difficult task than many realize.
