As if the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t already have enough offensive weapons, now they are even more dangerous.
JuJu Smith-Schuster is signing a one-year, $10.75 million contract with the Chiefs, per ESPN's Field Yates. He announced the news himself on Friday.
The short-term deal makes sense for Smith-Schuster.
JuJu played only five games last season due to a shoulder injury, meaning his free-agent value is lower than it could be. If he puts up a big season in Kansas City, that will likely remind other teams of his potential and lead to a bigger contract.
The 25-year-old had just 15 catches for 129 yards last season. But JuJu topped out with 111 catches for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns in 2018. He probably won’t attain those numbers as the No. 3 receiving option in Kansas City’s offense, but he should revive his value.
