Chiefs CB Bashaud Breeland clears concussion protocol, will play against Bills
Patrick Mahomes wasn't the only player the Kansas City Chiefs had in concussion protocol this week. Bashaud Breeland was also sidelined with a head injury.
However, it appears the cornerback will be joining Mahomes on Sunday during the AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs announced Saturday that Breeland has cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Buffalo Bills.
Breeland suffered the concussion during last weekend's divisional-round matchup against the Cleveland Browns. He had six tackles and one pass defended before exiting.
The 28-year-old has been a staple in Kansas City's defense since joining the team in 2019 after stints with the Washington Football Team and Green Bay Packers. In 11 games this season, he recorded two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 30 solo tackles and one tackle for a loss.
