Tyreek Hill is entering the final season of his contract, and he and the Kansas City Chiefs had been working on an extension. It appears those negotiations have hit a snag.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Media report that the Chiefs have given Hill permission to seek a trade. Kansas City has an outstanding contract offer to Hill that would make him one of the highest-paid receivers in football, but those talks have stalled.

The Miami Dolphins are one team that has shown interest in Hill, according to Rapoport.

Hill, 28, has eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark in four of his last five seasons. He has 24 receiving touchdowns over the past two years. The speedster has been one of the most explosive players in the NFL during that time and a huge part of Kansas City’s offense.

The Chiefs recently made a value free-agent signing when they brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster, so perhaps they feel he can step into a big role. They would likely look to add more help at the receiver position if they trade Hill.
