Chiefs make impressive NFL playoff history with victory over Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs have been the most consistently dominant team in postseason play since Patrick Mahomes took over under center. More specifically, the Chiefs accomplished a playoff feat that no team in history has ever done with their 27-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Following the team's second victory in the 2024 NFL Playoffs, this will mark their sixth consecutive trip to the AFC Championship Game and make them the first team in NFL history to win at least two playoff games in five straight seasons.

The first team that comes to mind as a surprise that failed to do this is the New England Patriots, with Tom Brady at the helm. But while the Patriots had two stretches of three consecutive years winning two postseason games, along with doing so in five of six seasons, they received numerous first-round byes, meaning a loss in the conference title game would only give them one victory in that specific postseason (such as 2012, 2013, 2015, etc.).

Regardless, it's hard to debate the level Mahomes and the Chiefs have played at when the postseason has rolled around, and the consistency is incredible. Now, Kansas City is just one victory away from a trip to its fourth Super Bowl in five years, but standing in the way is the AFC's No. 1 seed, the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson.
