Chiefs' Travis Kelce responds to Jets' Aaron Rodgers' 'Mr. Pfizer' comment

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce responded Friday to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers' recent comment, calling the tight end "Mr. Pfizer."

During his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday, the signal-caller discussed the Jets' defense holding Kelce to six receptions for 60 yards in New York's loss to the Chiefs on "Sunday Night Football." Rodgers said, "Our defense played really well and Mr. Pfizer didn't have a crazy impact on the game."

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite target appeared in an ad this fall promoting Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.

Jets owner Woody Johnson is an heir to Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical corporation that developed its own COVID-19 vaccine (along with Pfizer and Moderna). The Johnson & Johnson vaccine, however, is no longer being used as of May 2023.

During the offseason ahead of the 2021 campaign when he was still with the Green Bay Packers, the four-time MVP received backlash after misleading the public about his vaccination status.

In a news conference with reporters, Rodgers was asked if he was vaccinated against COVID-19. He answered in the affirmative and said that he was "immunized."

It was then learned in November 2021 however, after he tested positive for the virus, that Rodgers wasn't fully vaccinated.

No. 8 eventually said during an interview on Joe Rogan's podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience" that he took "full responsibility" for his "misleading" comments.
