The Tee Higgins trade news is not the only move that Cincinnati is making on Monday. The Bengals are making a change for the first time in 8 years at one of the league’s most malleable positions.
After Joe Mixon was cut on Monday night, Cincinnati quickly found its replacement back, per Mike Garafolo.
Zack Moss The New RB In Cincinnati
Zack Moss had a career year in 2023, where he managed 794 yards off of 183 carries and 5 TDs. Even though he was the lead back at times in Indianapolis, he was still unable to generate more than a 2 year, $8 million contract.
Although one could easily argue this indicates more about the state of mid-tier running back market than anything else.
The good thing for Moss is that he will have the opportunity to be bona fide feature back for a potential title chaser in the Bengals, assuming quarterback Joe Burrow manages to work his way back into full fitness.
This feels like a good deal for the Bengals, and we shall have to wait and see if Moss is able to fill potentially very big shoes in Ohio.
