Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard is hungry for a Super Bowl. After the Bengals got to the championship two years ago, they fell to the eventual-champion Chiefs in 2022. Hubbard is wanting to get back to the big game and is hoping to have a key role in that goal. Hubbard has set some lofty personal goals for 2023.

Cincinnati Bengals Sam Hubbard Ready For 2023

Hubbard has one goal in mind for 2023. “My main goal and only goal is to win the Super Bowl,” Hubbard said last month, via the team’s website. “This is the best I’ve felt in my whole career by a landslide physically.” He is hoping that his peak physical conditioning will translate to on-the-field success.

“I got double-digits in ’21 including playoffs, but I want regular-season double-digits,” Hubbard said of his sack totals. “I’ve been close. Last year I was on pace before I tore my calf … and slowed me up.”

Now that he is healthy, he is looking to get back to double-digit sacks.

Can The Team Usurp The Chiefs?

There is a nice little rivalry between the Bengals and the Chiefs. The Bengals have been the one team that has had the Chiefs’ number but it has not resulted in winning it all. Of all the teams in the AFC, the Bengals probably have the best chance to beat the defending champs due to past success. This year, they may have to focus more on the division as Lamar Jackson and the Ravens look formidable. The Steelers and the Browns will also not be easy victories either.

The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping for a big year out of Sam Hubbard and the rest of the defense. The offense has the firepower and if the defense can be dominant, the Bengals should find themselves in the hunt come January.
