The Cleveland Browns have made a concerted effort to upgrade the weapons on their offense this offseason. Given some of the injuries and ineffective play they experienced at some spots, it made sense to make some additions.

The biggest addition, to this point, was acquiring wide receiver Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos. Jeudy provides the team with a third receiver option behind Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore.

His presence should improve the team’s passing game as another weapon for Deshaun Watson to target. Also, he provides them with a long-term building block as the future of Cooper is up in the air as he only has two void seasons on his contract beyond 2024.

Another shrewd addition the team made was signing quarterback Jameis Winston. The Browns were hit hard by injuries at quarterback, starting five different signal callers. Joe Flacco was the starter near the end of the season, but the team seemingly viewed Winston as an upgrade, with Flacco joining the Indianapolis Colts.

Most recently, the Browns opted to make a change to their backfield. The team signed free agent D’Onta Foreman, who spent the 2023 campaign with the Chicago Bears. According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Cleveland was in the market for another running back and now they have added one.

In nine games last season with the Bears, Foreman ran the ball 109 times for 425 yards and four touchdowns. He wasn’t a major factor in the passing game, but did manage to catch 11 passes for 77 yards and another score.

Foreman will provide the team with some good insurance, along with Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong, for Nick Chubb. Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season and it is anyone’s guess if he will be ready to go for the start of the 2024 campaign.
