Cole Beasley would be a very intriguing option for Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers have gone about replacing All-Pro Davante Adams and speedster Marquez Valdes-Scantling with veteran Sammy Watkins and rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are both back for another season. Second-year receiver Amari Rodgers is also looking for a nice bounce-back season. But if the team wants to add more experience to the core, 10-year veteran Cole Beasley would be very intriguing.

The 33-year-old is coming off a solid year in Buffalo where he tied his career-high in receptions with 82 on a career-high 112 targets. The former Cowboy has been very durable throughout his career. He has missed just 12 games in 10 seasons. Beasley is predominantly a slot receiver, where Green Bay is already well-stocked. Cobb and Rodgers are the primary options in the slot for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but Beasley lined up everywhere in Buffalo each of the last three seasons, including along the hashmarks. His career mark of 10.4 yards-per-reception proves he has a lot of big-play ability, too, even if he is indeed moving towards his mid-30s.

It's all about getting Packers head coach Matt LaFleur all the help he can get on offense. Especially with Rodgers throwing the football, Beasley would have the opportunity to make plays. At 5-foot-8 and weighing 174 lbs, the former SMU Mustang would be able to find open windows within zones on important downs for Rodgers. His size also would be a huge asset. The duo of Cobb and Beasley in the slot would be one of the more detail-oriented slot combinations in the league. In this offense, Beasley could catch at least 40-50 passes. It's going to be a very balanced attack in 2022 for LaFleur's offense. A one-year deal for the soon-to-be 11-year veteran arguably makes sense.
