Colin Kaepernick insists he is serious about returning to the NFL, and that one team has reached out to him already.

Kaepernick held a workout in Seattle on Wednesday, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. After the workout, Kaepernick said he had spoken to Seattle Seahawks GM John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll, but there is nothing in the works at the moment.

There isn’t much clarity on who initiated those conversations. Carroll has confirmed that the Seahawks spoke to Kaepernick, but in that retelling, it was Kaepernick who reached out to the organization.

Kaepernick contributing in any meaningful way remains a long shot. He has not played since 2016, and probably is not a serious candidate for a starting job. The Seahawks appear prepared to push forward with Drew Lock for the time being.
