Colin Kaepernick‘s last NFL game happened in 2016 when the San Francisco 49ers finished the season at 2-14.

Injuries derailed his final two seasons with the Niners, a team he led to Super Bowl XLVII.

But ever since he played his last game, he kept on training in hopes of getting an opportunity from any team.

However, that call hasn’t arrived and there might be reasons beyond football regarding his non-consideration.

Regardless of what teams suggest, Kaepernick stayed in shape by constantly working out.

Recently, he got some help from the NFL, but not in an official capacity.

NFL on ESPN shared a video of Kaepernick practicing his throws with Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett and his brother, Sterling.

Lockett reached out to Kaepernick by responding to his tweet which said, “For the past 5 years, I’ve been working out and staying ready in case an opportunity to play presented itself.”

To which, Lockett responded, “Let’s do it bro! Me and my brother will come run routes for you!”

While Lockett shares his talent with the Seahawks, his brother Sterling plays for the Kansas State Wildcats.

An Audition For Seattle?

The best part about their session was that they shared it live on social media for the world, especially NFL executives, to see.

Lockett’s presence might be a subtle message for general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll to give him a try.

After all, Seattle badly needs a quarterback after trading longtime starter Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.

If they bring in Kaepernick, he can compete for the role against Geno Smith and Drew Lock.

All he wants is a chance and the Seahawks are in the right situation to provide that opening for him.
