Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns during the Colts’ win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon, making him the first player in franchise history to achieve that feat, according to the NFL’s official X account.

Moore also added eight tackles and a couple of passes defended in his monster Week 9 performance.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at little known Valdosta State, went undrafted but caught on with Indianapolis in 2017.

Moore was able to carve out a rather significant role with the club during his rookie campaign, playing in every game and finishing with 38 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and five passes defended.

The following year, Moore became a full-time starter and totaled 77 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three picks, a forced fumble and 11 passes defended.

Since then, Moore has become a very consistent force in the Colts’ secondary and has played three full seasons for the team.

Moore’s most impressive campaign came in 2021, when he racked up 102 tackles, a sack, four interceptions, a forced fumble and 13 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

He missed five games due to injury last year, which was a rather rare occurrence for a defensive back who has largely been healthy for the bulk of his career. During his 12 games on the field in 2022, Moore posted 65 tackles, a sack and four passes defended.

Through nine game this season, the Valdosta, Ga. native has recorded 61 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three picks, five passes defended and those two defensive scores.

If Moore maintains this level of production through the rest of the year, he could be on his way to a second trip to the Pro Bowl.

The Colts are 4-5 and will head on the road to battle the New England Patriots next weekend.
