Colts HC Jeff Saturday 'disappointed' in players following Nick Foles injury

Indianapolis Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday criticized both New York Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux and some of his own players in the wake of Sunday's scary-looking injury to quarterback Nick Foles.

Near the end of the second quarter of the Giants blowout 38-10 win over the Colts, Thibodeaux celebrated a big hit and sack of Foles by doing snow angels (on a snowless field). It was an awkward scene, as (whether aware or not), Thibodeaux was performing his celebration right next to Foles who seemed to be convulsing in obvious pain on the ground.

The Indianapolis quarterback was removed from the game and didn't return.

Thibodeaux has four sacks on the season, three of which have come in the last five games. The Giants clinched their first playoff berth since 2016 with the win.

Foles has already been ruled out for the Colts' Week 18 game against the Houston Texans with what the team is calling a rib injury. Second-year pro Sam Ehlinger will get the start on Sunday, with veteran Matt Ryan serving as the backup.

The latest shift continues arguably the wildest quarterback carousel in the NFL this season. After being acquired in an offseason trade, Ryan came in as the team's starter under then-head coach Frank Reich and has played 12 games (all starts).

Due to injury and ineffectiveness, Ryan was benched earlier this season in favor of Ehlinger, who then got replaced by Foles. Ehlinger and Foles have each played in three contests and made two starts.
