Jonathan Taylor, the star running back for the Indianapolis Colts, expressed his enthusiasm on Monday about the upcoming opportunity to once again join forces with the exciting young quarterback, Anthony Richardson, for the upcoming season.

He did so during an interview with WTHR reporter Dominic Miranda.

“It’s going to be an awesome sight to see. I’m excited to get more work with AR. He’s very talented, he’s eager to learn, he wants to learn. Guys like that— you gotta watch out.”

Unfortunately, their partnership was significantly limited last season due to a season-ending shoulder injury to Richardson and Taylor’s initial season start on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Their only time together on the field was during Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, where Taylor was still working his way back to full form and managed only six carries that afternoon.

However, one of the driving factors behind Taylor’s decision to resolve his contract dispute with the Colts and sign a lucrative multi-year deal was the prospect of playing alongside the dynamic dual-threat quarterback, Richardson, in the years to come.

The combination of Anthony Richardson’s exceptional athleticism and mobility, combined with Jonathan Taylor’s elite blend of speed, power, and explosiveness, makes this duo an incredibly formidable force in the realm of Run-Pass Option (RPO) plays. Additionally, their presence in the backfield should create havoc for opposing defenses, particularly when it comes to play-action during the 2024 season.

All signs point to this pairing becoming a lethal and unstoppable force in the upcoming year.
