The San Francisco 49ers are apparently finding the trade market for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo a bit underwhelming. Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have been open about the fact that they are looking to trade Jimmy Garoppolo, but the market appears to be developing slowly. That may be because it only consists of one team at the moment.

Matt Barrows of The Athletic wrote a piece this week examining the reasons the Niners have yet to move on from Garoppolo. One of them is that there appears to be only one team currently interested in Jimmy G. That team is the Indianapolis Colts, and even they might not be sold.

As Barrows notes, the Colts and 49ers played each other last season in a game in which Garoppolo put up a 60.9 passer rating, which was his worst number of the season. Garoppolo was coming off a calf injury, but he was outplayed by Carson Wentz in San Francisco. We all know what the Colts think about Wentz, so do they really consider Garoppolo an upgrade?

Unlike Wentz, Garoppolo has shown he can win big games. Barrows speculates that the Colts may be playing it cool, as they know there is no need for them to bid against themselves at the moment. We know of one other team that could have interest in Garoppolo depending on how things unfold. Indy seems content to wait, but the Niners probably are, too.
